Bumps in the road happen to all of us and they can't always be avoided. I can help you get refocused on how you want your life to be and improve your coping skills.
I use a variety of therapy techniques with my clients, depending on their personal goals and values. One of the most effective and evidence-based is Solution-focused Brief Therapy (SFBT). This method puts the focus on solutions and actions rather than symptoms or problems. SFBT is an evidenced based practice and it has been perfected for short-term counseling.
If we decide to pursue this path, I will ask questions focused on your present and future and we will devote a significant amount of time to identifying your goals and action steps necessarily to move through the pain. I have found that this can help you find the courage to take steps toward improving your life. You will learn real-world techniques and coping skills rather than simply analyzing your issues in a vacuum.
My goal as an individual therapist is to help you understand yourself and take actions that align with your beliefs and values. I take a non-confrontational approach, and I won't interpret your life for you. Instead, I will help you find your own wisdom. Together, we can define and achieve the future you prefer.
